ASV

ASVとは、車両の周辺や路面の状況などを検知して、ドライバーの安全運転を支援する自動車のこと。国土交通省が中心となり「ASVプロジェクト」が推進されている。ASVは安全に関するドライバーへの情報提供、警報、回避行動などを行う。　ASVの機能としては、ドライバーの死角になりやすい車両の後方の映像をモニタに映し出したり、後方から車が迫っていることを知らせたりすることで、安全確認の支援をする機能が考えられる。また、危険な状況に対して警報を出す機能や、ドライバーの表情や車両のふらつき具合から居眠りを検知して音声で注意したり、車両の後方に人がいることを音声で知らせる機能なども検討されている。　危険な状況に察知して自動的に回避行動を取る機能も研究されており、前方の車が急にスピードを落とした時には自動的にブレーキをかけてくれる。そのほか、路面の状況やITSから得た道路の情報などから、危険な速度でカーブへ進入しそうになった時に自動的に速度を落としてくれる機能や、車線を逸脱しそうになった時に自動的にハンドルを切ってくれる機能などが開発されている。　ASVはあくまでドライバーの安全運転を支援する自動車であり、いわゆる自動運転を目指したものではない。自動的な回避行動を取る前には警報がなされ、ドライバーによる回避を促す。自動回避はドライバーによる回避行動がとられない状況での補助的な位置付けとなっている。
